The libero tracker is charged with tracking the libero replacements with two primary responsibilities: 1. Assure that once the libero is replaced, at least once rally/dead ball must take place before the libero can replace another player. 2. Ensure that when the libero leaves the court, the player replacing the libero must be the same
Part of your duties as a libero tracker is to make sure the libero doesn't play the front row or is allowed to serve. If the libero rotates to the front row and doesn't get replaced, at the moment of contact of serve notify the second referee that the libero is a front row player.
On the libero tracking sheet, you may notice that there is are two boxes at the top of the lineup column, one marked with an L and one marked with an R. L stands for libero, and this is where you will put in the number of the team’s primary libero. In some cases, a team may have two liberos, the primary and the reserved.
